A person is trapped in endless traffic, stuck in a car journey that never seems to move forward: the same roads, the same turns, the same landscape looping again and again. Her only companion is a friend sitting in the back seat, whose face is never seen.<\/p>\n
Through missed turns and unnecessary stops, the road slowly reveals itself as a metaphor for grief, loss, and the painful act of letting go.<\/p>\n
My method is simple: instead of creating a traditional screenplay in standard format, I draw a quick comic version of the story to test it \u2014 not only from a narrative perspective, but also from a staging and visual standpoint.<\/p>\n
This approach helps me in several ways: I can test the story with a target group even before producing an animatic; I get an early sense of the required scenes and backgrounds; I gain a preliminary idea of layout and visual composition; and I can begin shaping the direction.<\/p>\n
Of course, a comic is a different medium from an animatic, so it needs to be adapted. For example, dialogues can be longer in a comic, while they may need to be shortened for a short movie.<\/p>\n
